Grand Oasis Safari around Egypt
 

 
Day1:

Upon your arrival at Cairo airport, our representative escorts you to your hotel where you will meet your expedition leader.
 

Day2:

We arrive at the Coastal city of Alexandria. We visit the old Harbor, the Roman Colieeum, catacombs, and then check into our hotel. Free time.
 

Day3:

We arrive at Alamein. There we visit WWII Museum and Cemetery. Movingon, we pass by Marsa Matruh resort. We finally reach the outskirts off Siwa, heading off road to the Great Sand Sea. Reaching the hot spring of Bir Wahid, we bathe, have dinner and camp for the night.
 

Day 4:

Today we visit the old Siwan Village of Shali, Cleopatra's spring, Mountain of the Dead, Alexandria the Great Temple (Temple of the Oracle), and take donkey-drawn carts for a tour around the city. Night in camp/lodge.
 

Day 5:

Today we start a safari to Bahariya Oasis. We pass by Araq, Bahrein, Nawemisa and Sitra Oases. We visit Roman catacombs and pass through sand dunes of the Great Sand Sea. The night is spent in a tented camp.
 

Day6:

Reaching Bahariya Oasis, we drive off road to Bir El Gahaba hot spring. We enjoy bathing in the hot waters before visiting the valley of the Golden Mummies. We then head to the White Desert. The night is spent camping among the sand dune.
 

Day7,8:

In the White desert, we meet our camels and start a caravan exploring the ancient Roman well, the magic spring and the hill of the Mummies. The nights are spent in tented camps.
 

Day9:

After breakfast we meet up with our tour of the White Desert. Later in the day we head on to Farafra Oasis. We bathe in the hot spring. The night is spent dancing and singing during a traditional Bedouin party. Night at tented camp (Bedouin style).
 

Day10:

Upon reaching Dakhala Oasis, we visit the old covered city, with its oil press, school, courthouse and dwelling chambers. We have lunch, check into our hotel and enjoy the hot spring of Bir El Gabal. Later we visit the tombs of El Muzawaka before returning for dinner and relaxation at the hotel.
 

Day11:

In Kharga Oasis, we visit the remote Roman village of Um El Dabdib, El Deir Monastery, anf El Bagawat Cemetery. The night is spent at a camp/lodge.
 

Day12:

Reaching Luxor, we check into our hotel and visit the temple of Karnak . Later, we have the opportunity to enjoy a sound and light show at the temple.
 

Day13:

Leaving our hotel early in the morning, we cross to the West Bank to visit the valley of the kings and its tombs and temples. Return to our hotel. Free time.
 

Day14:

Leaving Luxor behind we head to the Red Sea tourist town of Hurrahed. There, we enjoy the day on the beach. Night at hotel.
 

Day15:

We head to Cairo and check into our hotel. We prepare for an evening in the Khan El Khalil covered bazaar, where you may shop for unique Egyptian handcrafts and enjoy the atmosphere with traditional Shisha and dinner of Kebab and Kofta.
 

Day16:

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the pyramids of Giza and the Cairo Museum before your guide escorts you to the airport.

Practical Information:

  • Depending on the location, expect basic conditions when camping (for example on felucca) and some long driving days.
  • All participants should bring a sleeping bag, water bottle, torch and sun hat I addition to their personal effects.
